My Positionality
My approach to design and research is deeply informed by personal experience and an understanding of intersectionality – the way different aspects of identity like ethnicity, gender, disability, and neurodiversity shape each person's unique experience.

My own journey with having been temporarily disabled has enhanced my ability to empathize, particularly with marginalized groups and those with disabilities. Having experienced social challenges firsthand, I understand the isolation that comes with being marginalized. At the same time, as a hearing person, my work with the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community has taught me the importance of respecting people's lived experiences when I'm not directly part of the community I'm designing with.

Through my international experience researching markets across Asia and working with diverse communities, I've come to appreciate how reality and knowledge are deeply influenced by cultural context. This understanding, combined with my background in inclusive design, has strengthened my belief that knowledge is co-created through meaningful engagement with others.

I strive to create inclusive designs that honour these diverse perspectives and experiences.
